Another shot from my short trip to Kilmacurragh (see post 18/3/26). This is a completely different shot, with all shades of brown. I find when I go to gardens I favour getting shots of insects with the flowers as an extra point of interest. I was looking at the withered flower head on the hydrangea as I find their texture interesting when I spotted the fly on one of the dead heads. I really liked the tones of the flower an fly and tried to capture a good shot. It wasn't easy as 1) it was breezy and 2) the fly kept moving and wouldn't pose for the camera.
Settings wise I increased my shutter speed to 1/800 sec. to try allow for both insect and breeze movement. I chose an aperture of f/10 to try attempt to get more of the insect in focus, especially as I couldn't get a good side on view if it. This resulted in an ISO of 2500. I had my EF 180mm macro lens mounted on my R5ii via the adapter.
