Hang on Oscar

When I started keeping exotic pets, I made the decision I was not going to stress them trying to take 'good' photos of them.  It would stress them too much to place them in the 'perfect' setting and it is just not fair on something you care for so much.  So instead, I will grab a shot if I accidently wake one of them while cleaning their enclosure.  Red Eye Tree Frogs are very sensitive to light and don't have eyelids but a mesh that covers the eye (see post 20/3/25 to see a photo of mesh) therefore light is less than ideal with only the UBV light or plant LED giving a harsh glow.

I am not sure if this is Oscar (named because he tends to sleep in a tyre and reminds me of trashcan Oscar from Sesame Street) or Charlie (originally Cherrie as I thought female).  I find it impossible to tell them apart as they are both males of similar size and without significant feature differences.  So this poor sod got disturbed as I was cleaning and my camera was near by with a 70-200 mm lens on.  I used an aperture of f/5.6 and a shutter speed of 1/100 sec. and ISO 4000.  Everything was a compromise, I would have liken a higher aperture to get more in focus and a faster shutter speed may have given a sharper shot.  I find the Canon R5ii is disappointingly worse at handling high ISO compared to my Canon R6.  But the R5ii was the camera ready and nearby.
