This photo of model Anna, was taken on a DCC festive walkabout in Grafton Street in early December. It was only add the end of the night that I realised why Pauric kept asking why I was using my flash at full power. Lighting and people photography is not my comfort zone (yet). Had I have increased my ISO and reduced the power of the flash I realise I may have got more ambient light and a nicer image.
I couldn't get any nice images without artificial light, it just wasn't working for me. So I was using my flash off camera with a teeny softbox over it held in my left hand while I held the camera and took the shot with my right hand. I had an aperture of f/11 (why not f5.6 I ask myself) and a shutter speed of 1/100 sec. with ISO 100 and flash on full power. If I was doing it again, I would have reduced the aperture, increased the ISO and reduced the power of the flash. Live and learn as the saying goes...
