George, the panther chameleon and I wish you a very merry Christmas. George is the one exotic pet that is awake at the day, meaning he is the only one to try get a photo in light. This photo was taken when I had him out of his enclosure for a bit of enrichment. Some chameleons are very unsocial but George likes to come out of his enclosure. If you leave a plant right beside his open enclosure he will come out by himself and has even made it over to my desk to say hello if I leave enough climbing things around for him. Today I decided to place him in plants beside the Christmas tree to try get a festive shot. When I took the shot he was climbing up one of the bamboo canes which I have strategically placed in a large rubber plant pot. He likes climbing high up so I waited until he cleared the plant to minimise the clutter in the image. I sued an open aperture of f/2.8 as I wanted to blur the christmas tree background so that his colours and textures would stand out more. The shutter speed was 1/160 sec. and ISO was a wapping 12,800. Thank goodness for Topaz DeNoise!
