It was nice to get out for a coastal walk at Brittas Bay just after the mayhem of Christmas. After a slight hiccup of noticing that my camera had no memory cards I had a lucky escape and found spare cards in my bag. I had accidently left my cards on my desk after copying off the photos.
I had initially planned on slow shutter shots of waves over the rocks and had my short zoom lens on the camera. But, noticing a good few dogs out with their owners for post Christmas exercise I swapped lens putting on my 100-500mm lens. This shot was one of my favourites, the action of the dog, the mouth slightly open and the colours in the fur tonally matched the sand. I used an aperture of f/8, a shutter speed of 1/1250 sec. and an ISO of 800. The shutter was just about enough to capture the dog which was moving fast and thanks to bright light my ISO was healthy enough.
