At a previous trip to the same shore, Sandymount, my attention turned from landscape shots due to flat toneless sky to items in the sand (see blog Beauty and the Beast).  On Sunday a mate was taking photos of shells and brought back memories.  Instead of putting on the macro lens I put my 100-500 mm long zoom lens on the R6.  These days I tend to favor the low to ground, or on the ground, shot creating a different perspective.  For the shot above, I placed the R6 on the sand!  I have bar attached to the L bracket for my gimbal so it raises it slightly from the sand so marginally less risky (raised eyebrows from some there).  I use the screen rotated out and upwards to help me position and focus the object.  I set the aperture at f/11 because I wanted to get as much of the shell and weed in focus as possible and knew that the ground level would blur the surroundings (except for the horizontal line on the focus plane).  ISO was 100 and the shutter speed was 1/160 sec.  The exposure was set at two thirds underexposed.  For me the light green adds to the pictorial content.  I chose to leave in the black dot rather than clone it out.
The image below was taken, standing but slightly stooped and provides the traditional view of beach objects.  The texture of the sand captured along with the shell and weed.  The only difference in settings was a shutter of 1/125 sec.
