This feature image was taken at a follow-up studio session at Dublin Camera Club with Anna again as the Model. For this shot I used the studio lights and trigger. I used my stored custom settings on the camera and adjusted the aperture to f/9. I left the ISO at 100 and the shutter speed at 1/160 sec. While the synch speed on my camera should be 1/200 sec. I had noticed that sometimes a dark band can appear, possibly due to the trigger, but to avoid the risk I tend to use 1/160 sec. or slower.
When processing this image I converted it to mono taking on board comments from the Anna the model. The scarf was provided by my co-photographer and had beautiful strong colours in shades of yellow, orange, mustard etc. Anna had concerns that the colours were too strong for the muted make-up she had on. The conversion to mono mitigated this concern somewhat and it seemed more appropriate than leaving in colour. The models perspective is very important and there is a lot to learn from listening to the experience of those in the studio. It is also important to produce images that the model will be happy with.
