Leopard Gecko

Sheddie my leopard gecko came out for a roam on my bed so I grabbed the Camera with my 100 mm macro lens on it.  The light was poor so I opted for a shutter speed of 1/125 sec. which was just about enough to freeze her movement.  I chose an aperture of f/5 to try get more of her in focus than what 2.8 would achieve and auto ISO came in at 1600.
It can be difficult to get a 'clean' photo of a reptile pet as their enclosures tend to be dark and cluttered so I jumped at the opportunity to snap a few shots when I saw her on the clear bedding.  The shots were unplanned so unfortunately the bumps in the bed ruined the clean look somewhat. I tried to fix the worst of the bumps in photoshop and cropped tightly.
Photos provide you with the opportunity to see fine details in eyes, which I managed in this shot.  It is impossible to see the colouring by just looking at her.  I chose this shot from the batch as you can see her face clearly and the blurred body gives a good indication of her overall shape.
