This photo of Jocey was taken in the Dublin Camera Club studio under the direction of club member and friend Paul Timon. The elephant tattoo caught my eye and I wanted to capture images featuring just that one tattoo. The bond between the elephant mum and her baby was striking and something I wanted to focus on. The white outfit and the white background really makes the tattoo stand out.
This image was lit with a large overhead soft box. My standard studio settings ISO 100 and a shutter of 1/200 sec was used along with an aperture of f/11. The key challenge for me on the mirrorless system was to adjust the settings on exposure simulation and to make sure I was in mechanical mode and not electronic.
Special thanks to Jocey and Paul for sharing their vast experience during the session.
An contrasting low key image featuring the elephant tattoo.
