The Irish Hare

I took this photo of the hare, hiding in the long grass, at Wexford Wildfowl Reserve.  I was s delighted to see the reserve back open when I visited at the start of July.  It sadly had been closed for a long time due to Covid.  It was ironic that my favorite photo was of a mammal and not wildfowl!

Finding focus on the eye of the hare was difficult as the long grass kept obscuring the eye and a hearty wind was also hampering my efforts.  I used my usual settings of 1/1000 sec. and an open aperture of f8 with an auto ISO of 1250.  The lens was fully zoomed to 560mm.
