This photo is one of three gull chicks who hatched after their parents nested on the fifth floor window ledge in the TU Dublin Aungier Street Campus building. It provided a glimpse into nature in an urban area for the staff working in the building and an opportunity to see their development. A talking point for those on the 5th floor not remote working. The joy of seeing the chicks grow and the panic as other gulls launched an attack on the family all part of the days work.
This is one of my favourite photos taken and features one of the chicks. I heavily processed the image darkening the background to lesson the dirty wall and make for a less fussy image. In taking the photo I used a shutter speed of 1/1000 sec., an aperture of f7.1 and ISO 320.
