As I strolled along the pathway beside the River Dodder in Milltown I noticed a flash of colour and there in the distance was a kingfisher just after catching a tiny minnow. It is not a good image, was taken in a hurry and a lot of cropping was necessary causing a significant loss of quality. But, it is my record shot of a kinfisher with a fish (a very very small fish). The settings on the camera were 1/800 sec. at f8 and auto ISO gave a high 8000. The lens was fully extended, thanks to the 1.4 externder, giving me a reach of 560mm.
This blog is not showcasing my best photos, it also features record shots and those that mean something to me. This photo is as stated above a record shot. I have still to snap a really good kingfisher shot - it is on my bucket list.
