Hook Head Lighthouse was built over 800 years ago, and is a favorite location for many landscape/seascape photographers. It is positioned on the Hook peninsula. The lighthouse is the oldest working lighthouse in the world.
It was a nice way to spend St. Patrick's day / night. Unfortunately the sky was not the most co-operative from a photography perspective but at least it was draw and not too cold. For this shot a tripod (Peak Design) was essential as was the use of filters (NiSi). The tipod was needed as a slow shutter speed was essential as the light was dimming with the sunset. A reverse soft grad filter helped with the bright sky and helped balance the light with the dark rocks. The shutter was set at 1/6 sec. with an aperature of f11 and an ISO of 100. I used my 14-35mm R lens @ 14mm on the Canon R6.
