Goldfinch

I wanting some mossy or lichen covered branches for the garden. Eventually on New Years Eve I found a few broken twigs with lichen in Blessington and took them home. I managed to secure two twigs near the feeders yesterday. Today this goldfinch obliged and perched on it while waiting for a turn at the feeder. Composition is not ideal, hopefully I will get a shot of the bird facing me or sideways with less of it's back showing. Moss would probably giving a more pleasing image but beggers can't be choosers as the saying goes.

I used my usual bird settings of 1/1000 sec. shutter. Because I had the 1.4x extending attached to the 100-400 mm EF lens I had an open aperture of f8. The light wasn't great so auto iso clocked in at 8000. The photos was taken at max zoom of 560 mm. The Canon R6 was (unusual for me) mounted on a tripod via a gimbal head.
