Down the hatch

The daughter hates this photograph, and it certainly doesn't tick the right boxes from a 'good' photograph perspective.  Eyes are not clear and central to the photo, its left eye is hardly visible.  The third eyelid, the thin layer of tissue that closes diagonally across the eye is partially closed. For me the photo is about the poor mouse, it's little feet and long tail so visible as it goes 'down the hatch'.

The photo was taken at Dublin Falconery in Luttrellstown.  I used a shutter speed of 1/2000 sec. and an open aperture of  f5 with auto iso coming to 2000.  My 100-400mm lens was zoomed to 200mm on my Canon R6.
