After escaping from a private estate in Wicklow over 150 years ago the Sika Deer and can easily be found in Wicklow as well as other locations other parts of Ireland. The deer graze on vegetation as can be seen from the grass in this youngsters mouth. The female and her offspring stood posed like this for a enough time to let me take a few shots.
Due to low light the settings were less than idea. 1/200 sec was a challenge handheld using a heavy 100-400mm lens with a 1.4 extender. As I was zoomed to 560mm my open aperture was f8 and auto ISO registered at 6400. I used Topaz DeNoise to reduce some of the noise, however I find when the background is 'fussy' rather than neutral it works less effectively.
