This photo is of a fairly rare silver fox cub, one
of four cubs born at a petting farm in Laois. Last year I was lucky
enough to see the cub’s parents and an uncle at the farm, so it was wonderful
to see the new batch of cubs of such a rare animal.
I spent an hour or more among the seven foxes, three adults and four cubs and was delighted to be able to capture a range of shots. This photo had a shutter speed of 1/1250 sec., an aperture of f/5.6, and an ISO 800. It was taken with a Canon R6 mirrorless camera, with animal eye detection focus enabled, and a fully zoomed Canon 100-400mm EF lens mounted on an adapter.
